One more post before I got sleep......

Well I finally found some Corey Perry pictures.  I also found an article on Burke, David Farrish, Kent Huskins and Sean O'Donnell's day with the cup.

Corey Perry, of the Anaheim Ducks, finishes an eventful day with the Stanley Cup arriving late for a private party in London, Canada, Friday, August 10, 2007. Perry, from this year's NHL Stanley Cup-winning team, traveled with the cup from his hometown of Peterborough to London where he played with the London Knights OHL team. Perry and his group was delayed several hours on Highway 401 due to an accident. Perry carried the cup through the stopped traffic.

Huskins and O'Donnell days with the cup

The Ottawa Senators didn't win the Stanley Cup this year, but the Cup will still spend two days in the region this week, thanks to two Anaheim Ducks hatched there.

The Ducks took Lord Stanley's trophy when they trounced the Senators in Game 5 of the 2007 NHL playoff finals in June.

Consequently, the Cup is scheduled to spend Sunday in Almonte, Ont., just west of Ottawa, hometown of Anaheim defenceman Kent Huskins.

It will also spend a day in his teammate Sean O'Donnell's hometown of Kanata, which is now part of Ottawa.

A nice article on Brian Burke from the Vancouver Sun

Despite being unceremoniously dumped by the Vancouver Canucks and leading his new team, the Anaheim Ducks, to a Stanley Cup championship Brian Burke watches his team practise April 30 at GM Place.last season, our fair-but-fickle city will always draw Brian Burke back.

"This will be home when I get done working in hockey, but hopefully that's not for awhile," Burke told The Vancouver Sun Friday after addressing the B.C. Chamber of Commerce's executive luncheon in the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel.

"We hope that we'll be there [Anaheim] for 10 more years," Burke said. "We're going to be there as long as the owners want us to be there."

Friday Evening News

Sammy Pahlsson had his day with cup a few days ago and we finally get to see a large part of it thanks to Ducks TV and the Hockey Hall of Fame.  I found a short video report from Corey Perry's day with the cup and Earl at BOC gives us some info on how successful Sammy has been in his hockey career.

The Stanley Cup Journal has been updated with Sammy's day with the cup

After seemingly circumnavigating North America through June and July, the Stanley Cup spent the first day of August 2007 flying to Sweden, where it spent the day with Sami Pahlsson.

Pahlsson, one of the NHL's premier defensive forwards, was born in Ange, but spent most of his developmental years in the hockey-mad city of Ornskoldsvik. With the Stanley Cup reserved for him, Sami decided to incorporate both into his celebration.

A short news report from Corey's day with the Stanley Cup

Friday Morning News

Well I've got more Stanley Cup coverage for you and Joe DiPenta has resigned with the Ducks. The contract terms have not been disclosed yet. But I will let you know when I find out.

Andy McDonald has his day with the cup tomorrow. Here is his schedule: Link

Former Colgate star Andy McDonald is bringing the Stanley Cup he won with the Anaheim Ducks this season to Hamilton for a brief visit Saturday. If everything runs smoothly, here is what his day will look like:

At about 7 a.m., McDonald will pick up the chalice from teammate Corey Perry in London, Ontario. At 7:30 a.m., a private plane donated by a Colgate alumnus will leave the airport in London.

Around 8:30 a.m., the plane is expected to land in Syracuse and clear customs. After a hopefully short layover, the plane will fly 15 minutes to Hamilton.

In the 9:45-10:15 a.m. range, McDonald and the Cup will arrive for the start of a ceremony at the north end of the Village Green in downtown Hamilton, in front of the Colgate Inn. Fans are encouraged to arrive by 9 a.m. If it rains, the celebration will take place in Cotterell Court, which is in the Reid Athletic Center on Route
12B.

After a brief ceremony, fans will have about one hour to view the Cup and get autographs from McDonald. Fans can take photos of the Cup, but they will not be allowed to touch it because of time constraints. Fans will also be limited to one autograph per person.

At about 12:15 p.m., McDonald and the Cup will leave Hamilton for the flight back to London. He will then drive it to his hometown of Strathroy, Ontario, about 30 minutes away.

McDonald will first take the Cup to a local rink for a community celebration, and then to a family barbecue.

Assuming McDonald has any strength left in his body or hours remaining in the day, he’ll end his date with the chalice at a party in a Strathroy bar.

An article on Andy McDonald -

As one of the fastest players in the NHL, Anaheim forward Andy McDonald can cram a lot of magic within a few ticks of the clock.

Like how he elevated his status from very good player to one on the cusp of greatness, for instance. He needed just 60 seconds to pull off that little trick June 4.

That was the day McDonald scored two eye-rubbing goals to help his Ducks beat Ottawa 3-2 in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals. Anaheim went on to win the trophy, which McDonald is bringing to his alma mater, Colgate, on Saturday.

More on Joe DiPenta Day

HALIFAX –“I’m never washing this hand again,” was a phrase heard many times Thursday throughout Halifax Regional Municipality.

NHL defenceman Joe DiPenta, after winning the Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks last season, had the Stanley Cup for 24 hours. He made the most of it. Hundreds of children and parents got to meet DiPenta, have their picture taken with him and the Cup, and even lay their hands on the holy grail of hockey.

News Alert - Corey Perry Stanley Cup Day

Well here is the link to the news article - Link I have included the text below.

BOB FEAVER Sports - Wednesday, August 08, 2007 @ 00:00

Lord Stanley's mug is coming home to Peterborough again Friday.

Peterborough's Corey Perry will bring the Cup to the Memorial Centre between 10:30 a.m. and 12 noon for people to see it and get photos taken with it.

Perry won the Cup last spring as a member of the Anaheim Ducks, beating out Ottawa Senators and Ennismore's Mike Fisher in five games.

In just his second NHL season, Perry finished second on his team in playoff scoring with six goals, nine assists and 15 points in 21 games, including two goals and four assists for six points in the finals.

The London Knights grad warns people because of tight time constraints, he won't be signing autographs.

"We remember when Cory Stillman brought the Cup to Peterborough last year," Perry's father Geoff told The Examiner last night, "there were a lot of people disappointed. There were some hard feelings and we don't want that to happen to Corey.

"He has a private function here in Peterborough afterwards and then he's going to London in the late afternoon. There's not going to be a public display in London so there's going to be some hard feelings there."

Geoff Perry says Corey makes his off-season home in London now with Peterborough number three on the list: "Anaheim is number one, London number two and Peterborough number three. There's more to do in London for him and he's there for the training."
