Anaheim Ducks News - Personnel News

So Bert and Marchant are out.  Bert is out with a concussion and Marchant is out with a deep bone bruise (ouch).  The Ducks have also called up Petteri Wirtanen from the Pirates.

The Ducks continue to take one step forward and two steps back in the injury department.  Jean-Sebastien Giguere came off he injured reserve on Sunday and Sami Pahlsson came off the IR last Wednesday.  Todd Bertuzzi was put on the injured reserve list for a concussion after being further evaluated this morning.  Bertuzzi suffered the concussion in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Wild when Derek Boogaard checked him hard in the offensive zone.  Bertuzzi left the game in the first period after he was hit and did not return.  The one week time frame is a minimum as the league requires that he be completely symptom free for a week before he is cleared to return.

Ducks have recalled Wirtanen

The Anaheim Ducks recalled center Petteri Wirtanen from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League, the club announced on Monday.

Originally selected by the Ducks in the sixth round of the 2006 draft, Wirtanen has yet to play in a regular-season game but tallied two goals and two assists in five preseason contests last month.

The 21-year-old has recorded seven goals and 11 assists in 67 career games with the Pirates.
