Anaheim Ducks News for Monday - Ducks beat Blue Jackets 4-3 (OT)

I missed most of this game, but got to watch the third period and OT. The Ducks played hard and survived some unfortunate penalties to pull this game out a sweet shot by Pronger. It seemed like an action packed game that was a not a good one to miss. Anyway, here is the game coverage.

The Ducks finished off their three game road trip with a visit to the Columbus. They needed to rebound from a penalty laden loss to Nashville two nights before. The Ducks rebounded well with a physical game that saw the power play starting to click, including the overtime winner that made it 4-3. Although they have won several times in the shootout, it was the Ducks first overtime win this season.

Chris Pronger’s power-play goal 3:14 into overtime Monday night gave the Ducks a 4-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

The Blue Jackets forged a 3-3 tie on a power-play goal by Nikolai Zherdev 3:07 into the third period. Zherdev buried a close-range rebound one second after a five-on-three Columbus manpower advantage expired.

The Ducks scored three times in the second period to erase two one-goal deficits and take a 3-2 lead into the third period.
