Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 20 saves in his first shutout of the season, and Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan each scored goals for the Ducks in a 2-0 victory over San Jose on Tuesday night.

From shootout to shutout, it is clear that the Ducks are improving. Tuesday night’s game against the Sharks was the first time the two teams did not need extra time to decide things. As good as Evgeni Nabokov was for the Sharks, he was not good enough to stop the Ducks from scoring.

This was an opportunity to put some distance between Anaheim and us. I’m most disappointed we didn’t build on the other night. It’s inexplicable to not have the extra passion tonight.”

If the Ducks are going to climb their way back into the thick of the Stanley Cup playoff race in the NHL’s Western Conference, Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks at HP Pavilion would provide the perfect blueprint.
With Corey Perry and rookie Bobby Ryan providing timely goals and goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere supplying a solid performance to back a stout defensive effort, the Ducks not only recorded their first shutout of the season, but handed San Jose its first shutout in 34 games this season.Read the rest here - Link
